Well, Mr. Prewett seems to have settled in very nicely so far.

I'm afraid I'll never get used to seeing my former students returning to Hogwarts to be teaching classes, rather than attending them. However, I have a lot faith in him. I have no doubt that he'll be asset to the school.

I hope everything else within the school continues to run as smoothly.

The start of term has proceeded quite smoothly so far. Things are very...different. Hogwarts definitely lacks its usual sparkle without Albus with us. I am doing my very best to keep up with the running of the school.

The staff changes and additions seem to be working out nicely. Horace has settled into his old post quite nicely since last year, and he seems to be enjoying being head of Slytherin once again. Professor Wood is handling the Defense Against the Dark Arts classes well so far, which pleases me. Although Sibyll and Firenze are still continue to have frosty relations with one another, their respective classes seem to be going well. About as well as Divination can go, I suppose...

All in all, a good start to the year. Things are calm for now. I only hope they remain that way.

Tomorrow the students will be returning. Things will be...quite different. I wonder if I am doing the right thing by keeping the school open?

*sighs* It will be an interesting start to the year, indeed.

I still somehow can't believe it. I would have never believed it possible. How could this have happened? Why did I trust him?

What am I going to do?

It seems that there was some sort of spell or *snorts* more likely demonic magic cast upon the mansion. Several persons fell under the effects of this magic, including myself. I spent the last two days as my eight-year-old self. *sighs*

I have a very vague account in my mind of what transpired over those two days. I recall being in the mansion and being called "stupid" by some ill-mannered child, and I remember...talking to Severus...*suddenly looks a bit uncomfortable* I don't remember everything that happened with him. I probably don't want to... *closes her eyes and sighs*

My typist insisted that I take this quiz. I suppose it's somewhat accurate. Although, I fail to see how answering a few questions on this computer-thing is supposed to tell you so much about me. *Sniffs* But I suppose I do enjoy helping others, and I am a bit misunderstood by most people.

Typist: Awww...Minnie, you know we all love you! You always try to help others even when your help isn't always wanted.... And I suppose you are a bit misunderstood. Everyone thinks you're this cold, stern old woman, but you have a softer side, just like everyone else. You have feelings too, gosh darnit!

"I'll show you the way."

Your deep insight and quick wisdom never ceases to amaze those around you. You are the guiding light for many of those you know and are not afraid to help anyone else who asks. Not very many acknowledge your tremendous help and effort, but you do not mind that so much. You've seen what is in store for them, and will be there should they need your help. You enjoy people in general, but are very selective of who you let see the real you. Others see you as an enigma of sorts, a mystery that is seemingly ever changing.

My typist found our earlier conversation in the chat highly amusing, and so found it necessary to post a partial transcript of it.

Typist: It's funny because we come up with the most random things. Stream of consciousness can be highly entertaining.

My typist has informed me that I will be unavailable tomorrow because she is having...what did she call it now?...oh, yes! She is having surgery tomorrow. She is having something called a Pilonidal Cyst removed. *Shakes her head* Honestly, these Muggle medical treatments...I don't know how they do it without magic...

She'll be going to the hospital tomorrow morning to have what she has assured me is a minor procedure. Her classes have been over for two weeks now, but she is scheduled to be off work for the rest of the week, and her workplace (a peculiar place called a "daycare" where she cares for other people's children) is closed weekends and is closed on Monday for a holiday. I don't know which one. Some American holiday.

Anyway, because we're not sure how long her recovery will take and how she'll be feeling the next couple of days, I know for certain only that we won't be available for posting or the chat tomorrow (Tuesday). Because of the type of ailment and the area where the procedure is being performed, she won't be able to sit comfortably for a couple days, so she'll most likely be resting on the couch. So after Tuesday, she'll be available on the chat from Wednesday until Monday!

I do hope everything goes alright with my dear typist. I'm sure she'll be fine, but at the moment she seems to be...as she put it, "Freaking out." I, along with my headmates, have been doing all we can to keep her spirits up.

So I will see you all on Wednesday.

*Walks unsteadily over to a chair and slowly takes a seat, wincing as she does so*

I say, that chat is becoming more and more dangerous. All I was trying to do was defend Cosette Pontmercy, and what did I get for my troubles?

*Closes her eyes for a few moments and rubs her temple*

Madame Pontmercy got into some sort of silly argument with the god Ares. She wound up insulting him so that he threw her against a wall and held a knife to her throat. When I attempted to intervene, Ares petrified my body. One of the goddesses, I'm sorry to say I don't remember who (although I think it may have been Lady War), un-petrified me a few minutes later. I have heard many times about the Petrificus totalus charm that wizards use, and I have seen its effects many times both as a teacher and during the Dark time. But never before have I witnessed anything like this.

*Attempts to shift her weight on the chair to be more comfortable*
*Groans*
*Finally succeeds at curling up in the chair in a very cat-like manner*

With petrification set by a wizard there are usually no side-effects with restoration. But since this was done by someone....immortal, it's really not the same thing. My entire body aches. I thought it would have ended by now, but my joints especially are quite painful. I've been trying to take it easy and relax but I have so many things to do. I can't just neglect all my preparation for my classes. But I suppose I really should rest for a while. I can't help but wonder if these after-effects have anything to do with my...with my age...*looks a bit embarrassed* These side-effects are strange, for sure.

I feel very silly for collapsing. Miss Granger and Armand St. Just had to help me over to the couch after it happened because I could barely walk. I thank both of them for their assistance. I'm glad they were there.

So now Cosette Pontmercy has challenged Ares to a duel of some sort. *Shakes her head* Silly girl. I wish I could have been of more help to her, but in my condition...it wasn't possible at the time. And then it seems something happened with Miss Granger and Mr. Weasley which deeply upset her. It looked as though she had been crying. The poor girl's got enough to be worrying about without more troubles. I worry about the stress in her life and how it is affecting her health and the health of...well...you know. I wouldn't be surprised if she falls ill. I really should have been able to counsel her, but I just wasn't able to at the time.

I am only glad that I have the chance to rest now for a while. Perhaps I shall speak with Severus about an Invigorating Potion or some other remedy if I am still feeling weak in the morning. The only good part of the chat was finding out that Armand St. Just's tongue has been regrown. I am sincerely glad that Severus was able to help him, though the poor boy has a lot more he's worrying about. I wish him some peace of mind.

*Sighs and closes her eyes* Now I need to rest.

Typist edit: I've just been informed that it was in fact Nemesis who unfroze our dear professor. Thank you. She was a little confused during the whole ordeal and couldn't keep straight who was there and what was happening, so she couldn't remember exactly who helped her out. But thanks, from myself and from Minerva (she's resting right now, so I'll speak on her behalf:)
